Create a new Google AdWords campaign

Localytics can track users acquired through the Google Display Network in the following campaign types: engagement, mobile app installs, and ads in mobile apps.

For more details on AdWords campaign types, please refer to Google’s support documentation.

Note: On iOS, Google AdWords does NOT currently pass campaign-level information in postbacks to analytics providers like Localytics, so attributed users from all of your AdWords campaigns will appear as "Google AdWords Campaign" in the Localytics Dashboard.
  1. Navigate to Attribution > Attribution Settings for the app you will be tracking and verify that the Google AdWords toggle is on.
  2. In the Google AdWords dashboard, select Tools > Conversions.
  3. If you have not defined any conversion actions in Google AdWords, add a new conversion action now and select Mobile or tablet app as the source. If you have already defined a conversion event for your app(s), please edit that event.
  4. In conversion settings, select Advanced options.
  5. Return to the Localytics Dashboard. Copy the Postback URL from Localytics and paste it into Google AdWords.
  6. Click Save in Google AdWords.
  7. Ensure that “I use an app analytics package to track new downloads” is checked in Google AdWords.
  8. Copy the Conversion ID and Conversion Label from Google AdWords and paste into the Localytics Dashboard.
  9. Click Done in Google AdWords and Save in Localytics.

Plan and execute your campaigns in Google AdWords. Attribution data will be captured in the Attribution section of your Localytics Dashboard.
