Instrument your app

When instrumenting your app, consider the following elements.

Profiles are information related to your customers that you send to Localytics. You can use Profiles to gain insights about your app or target an Audience. Profiles data with an organizational scope can be used to find information about and target your customers across all your apps.

Tracking user actions

Track user actions within your app by tagging events. Good event tagging is critical to having a strong understanding of your users.
Tracking customer lifetime value

Localytics provides support for recording customer lifetime value (CLV). You can pass the CLV value you choose when you tag an event.
Custom dimensions

Custom dimensions make it possible to split data (such as users, sessions, devices, and countries) in the Dashboard by additional dimensions specific to the application. They are available in many Localytics Dashboard reports.
Customer ID

Localytics provides an optional set of customer-based parameters to more easily attach internal customer identifiers to every session open, session close, and event.
Tracking user flow through your app

Tag views, or screens, in your application in order to track the way users flow through it. To tag views, add a tagScreen call in the viewDidAppear call for each of your views.
GPS location

Localytics can collect location-based data to be included in the AWS S3 JSON log exports. In circumstances when GPS coordinates are passed using the methods below, the Localytics Dashboard Maps report will reflect the user location.
