Analyze flows

Flows show how people move through your app.

Using a graphical view, flows show you common paths as users progress from screen to screen in your app. Flows can also show you where sessions usually begin and end.

Look for instances where a screen has a large number of sessions that end abruptly, indicating friction in key flows. It is also helpful to look for loops in common paths. If users have to move between two screens many times, invest in making the process faster.

  1. Navigate to Flows.
The beginning screens display, including the percent of users who started at those screens.
  2. If required, change the time frame.
  3. Analyze the likely and unlikely places for users to begin.
  4. Select a screen to drill down into.
  5. Analyze the flow, including any significant drop offs.
  6. Click down as many levels as you need to analyze further interactions and drop offs.
  7. Scroll down to the bottom of the flow screen to view metrics on total occurrences and exits by screen.
  8. (Optional) Export metrics to CSV to further analyze.
  9. To view sessions lost by screen and preceding screens for a particular screen, click any screen's pin (top right-hand corner of the screen's box).
The metrics below the flow display total number of sessions lost from this particular screen as well as the metrics around the screen visited before this one.
